The final part of a trilogy that began with A New White (2004) and progressed through For Hero: For Fool (2006), with missing links filled in by Wishingbone and Yell & Ice. Full of short, fast bangers that work at surface level, but scratch deeper to find the most intricate realisation yet of Doseone's vision as a bandleader.

Subtle's second mini-album, a companion to For Hero: For Fool and sequel to the Wishingbone collaboration project. Features contributions from members of TV on the Radio, The Notwist, and Wolf Parade, alongside a one-off cLOUDDEAD reunion.

Released in the wake of a tour-van accident that left band member Dax Pierson quadriplegic, Wishingbone is a CD/DVD of exclusive material rather than a retreat. Subtle treated the crisis with renewed resolve. The EP features collaborations and remixes alongside new material, serving as both a creative statement and a bridge between A New White and For Hero: For Fool.

Subtle's debut album on Lex Records introduces this West Coast six-piece: electronic and live drums, electric cello, samplers, guitars, wind instruments, synths, and Doseone's sharp free-flowing vocals. Though the full band contributes, all tracks were written by Doseone and Jel, connecting A New White to their output as Themselves and cLOUDDEAD.

The lead single from Subtle's debut album A New White. F.K.O. — an abbreviation of "Fuck Kelly Osbourne" — pushes boundaries across rock, hip-hop, and electronics, with a media-fuelled energy reflected in the SSSR-directed video included on the Wishingbone DVD.
